Going home in October (At least that is the plan). A shiver of excitement passes though my body whenever that thought comes to my mind. Home… what a beautiful word. Although not every place is as beautiful as the image attached; but still my minds eyes only find the very best of sceneries in front of them when I think of Assam; may be this is the magic of staying away from home for around 8 years (if you don’t count those infrequent visits of 10-15 days once a year.and this time it is more special as I will be there just at the time of Durga Puja (Second most popular festival in Assam after Bihu)

Forgotten Memory
Talked to someone after a long long time. But it was not half as good as I thought it would be. It was kind of stale cold food that one picks up from the refrigerator after a hard days work.
I can still remember the times when I could wait for hours just for that single phone call. When we used to talk for hours without ever thinking what to talk next and time used to fly away. But today 5 minutes seemed to stretch forever...They say time is all powerful; Time ca change anything. Today I know; its true

Paul Gauguin
Van Gogh classics

Just finished reading a novel named Jiwan Trishna(in Assamese; my mother tongue) by my dad. It is based on the life and times of Vincent Van Gogh; one of the greatest artist of all time.
This can be a great reference point for anybody interested in Van Gogh.
Diti (as I call my dad) had earlier written another novel named Sunali Deha (Golden Bodies). This again was based on another great artist of a real fascinating character Paul Gauguin. That novel was simply great (well I can't stop you from thinking that I am saying this because he is my dad; but my opinion stands). The second one is good but I did not find that as interesting as the first one. May be that have to do something with the diverse personalities of both the friends (yes; both Gauguin and Van Gogh were contemporaries). Van Gogh’s paintings explode in riotous colors; but his life was not that colorful (I mean by artist’s standards). Whereas Gauguin can come out of any Hollywood flick…
I am including a few paintings of both the artists. The ones I like the best
